This piece was inspired by the content of a poem:

Away delights, go seek some other dwellings,
For I must die.
Fareware false love,
Thy tongue is ever telling
Lie after lie.

Alas, for pitty, go and fire their hearts
that had been hard to thee,
Mine was not.

Piano Poem

Program Notes:

This piano solo piece is divided into two sections. After the introduction, the theme represents "Love". There is a sudden change in texture to cut out the theme. Another theme appears to represent "go and fire their hearts". After the climax, the "Love" theme recapitulates and the music finally ends up.
